The Fid or belt awl is traditionally used for enlarging holes in leather. Many willow basket makers find it quite useful when opening space between rows of weaving, packing and inserting new spokes. Hardwood handle, blunt end, flat shaft. 2 1/4 inches long. 5 inches overall length.
