DVD1 - Square Willow Picnic Basket made by Norbert Platz - Traditional Irish Basketmaking Documentary

Norbert Platz, originally from Germany, shows how he makes a square picnic hamper in buff willow. Enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge of willow, Platz has been making baskets for over 25 years in his County Cork workshop. Platz is a founding member of the Irish Basketmakers Association and has won several awards in the RDS Craft Competitions over the years. This DVD is one of a set of 3 DVDs demonstrating the use of brown, buff and white willow by three individual basketmakers (Norbert Platz, Bill Sinnott and Paddy Coleman O'Toole) living in Ireland in 2010.
